This PPDP is an agreement between and Arts Educator 2.0. The purpose of this Personal Professional Development Plan is to construct professional development goals for grant participants in a collaborative and meaningful way. Progress towards the following goals is the responsibility of the participant and will be monitored by the instructional coach and grant evaluator.
Goal #1: (Provided by ArtsEducator2.0) Develop and implement a standards-aligned rich task
In order to meet this goal, the following steps will be taken:
I will participate in 7 webinars that deliver content related to writing the unit of study. *WEBINARS- Consisted of many subjects pertaining to education. Example: Elluminate, Standards, Anchors, Assessment, Technologies, Skype, Unit Planning, Big Ideas, Content and Process, Rubrics, Integrating Math and Science, Adaptation and Accommodations.
I will participate in 5 face to face meetings at the IU1 where I will have time to interact and collaborate with other teachers about the content and technologies relevant to unit writing.
I will work with my mentor and collaborate with other grant participants to draft the unit in stages as content is delivered and discussed. Upon completion of the unit, I will submit the unit for review.
*Class- Many class discussions about different characteristics of teaching. Learned multiple technologies to help prevail in the classroom. With many busy schedules there was built in work time that was beneficial to the class. Questions and Answer time was throughout the day with mentors on site. During the classes we had detailed presentations with community based programs that are involved in the arts and will be a positive to all school districts.
I will complete any necessary revisions of the unit and resubmit by June 30, 2009.
Progress will be documented in the following ways:
I will draft the unit using Google Docs that will be shared among participants with which I am collaborating as well as my mentor.
*During the early sessions, my mentor and I discussed many issues dealing with standards and how our lessons should align with the standards stated. During these hours Mrs. Leslie Gates showed me how to use Google Docs along with some other text friendly programs. Also during this time Mrs. Gates advised and gave suggestions on my unit concerning edits and corrections. Mrs. Gates was very helpful during the process of the Unit plan. She gave me extra ideas and thoughts for the lessons as well as my rubric. The unit plan can be viewed here... Wiki Unit PlanLink: Unit Plan
I will be accountable to deadlines that coincide with the face-to-face meetings at the IU1.
I will save/record necessary communication between me and my mentor or other grant personnel regarding my unit writing progress. *Information- Saved and recorded information can be located with the following links:
My unit of study will be reviewed by a team of grant personnel including the co-directors, evaluator, and representatives from grant partners.
The team will assess the proficiency of my unit using a rubric that was explained to me at the beginning of the AE2.0 Project. The rubric will be used to determine if my unit is Advanced, Proficient, Basic, or Below Basic.
*I met with my mentor, Mrs. Gates, at Panera Bread for a few hours to discuss different aspects of the Rubric created on the Unit Plan. Again Mrs. Gates was there to guide me and help revise and discuss revisions that were needed in the Unit Plan. Changes were made and saved in the Wiki.

Goal #2: Explore potential methods of integrating *technology into existing lessons to enhance student learning.**
In order to meet this goal, the following steps will be taken:
Read books related to technology integration.
Consider the best purchases/ needs assessment *PURCHASE: Vado, Ipod, Projector, Books, Videos.
Explore ways to fund technology purchases (fundraisers, grants, etc.) *CLASS DISCUSSIONS
Incorporate new knowledge into existing lesson/ unit plans. *I am able to create fulfilled lessons that are more beneficial to the students in my classroom.
Consider developing new lessons that utilize new technology.
*Using technology and new resources to enlighten unit planning in my classroom creates multiple renditions of lessons.
* Technology has enhanced my classroom beyond my expectations. It has helped me as an educator and the students in their learning. Technology can be a struggle at times; however with the right training it can do wonders. My students complain sometimes when a new task is given but at the end of the project they are signing up for the next course. The only problem that we as public educators sometimes face is how much technology we have. We are sometimes limited to numbers of computers, cameras, scanners etc... I plan on taking all of this knowledge and using it in my future lessons. Here is some work by my students in the class. They used cameras, computers, microphones, Photoshop and an editing program called Showbiz. We do this at the end of each semester and the students enjoy being creative with their work.
Enjoy!
Progress will be documented in the following ways:
I will provide notes about technology integration *Documented in Unit Plan.
I will research and list the technology items that I would like to purchase. I will include prices and places where these items can be purchased.
*Documented this information through email with my mentor.
I will provide lesson plans with technology integration.
*Documented in the Unit Plan.
I will provide evidence of AE2.0 discussion.
*Documented in PPDP as well as in the Unit Plan.
Goal #2 will be assessed in the following ways:
My progress will be consistently observed by my mentor via on-site visits, virtual visits, various forms of communication, and via my wikispace.
